Coalition policies are improving Halesowen and Rowley Regis, says local MP
17th August 2010
James Morris has offered his support to the policies of the Conservative led Coalition Government, and after just 100 days believes these are already making a difference in Halesowen and Rowley Regis.
To help the economy, a £1 billion investment fund has been made available to companies in the region, corporation tax has been reduced, and Labour's harmful jobs tax has been scrapped. The coalition has already taken steps to introduce a cap on immigration and to guarantee a referendum on any further significant transfer of powers to the European Union. Schools headteachers are being given more freedom to improve standards and greater investment in the NHS will continue. To ensure fairness, the Personal Allowance has been increased, giving hard working people an extra £200 a year, and the benefits system is being reformed, to reduce payment errors and fraud. James Morris said: "The Coalition has a radical agenda to lead Britain to economic recovery and to improve our public services. After just 100 days the new Government has shown that it has the strength to deliver on its commitments".
