Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris is claiming success in his long-running campaign to bring shop fronts in Halesowen High Street up to scratch.
The buildings, which house businesses including The Carpet Shop and Rainbow Café, have been slammed as an “eye-sore” and “a blight on the High Street” by Halesowen shoppers.
After a long exchange of letters, emails and phone calls, the buildings’ owners Kewbridge Ltd have finally carried out maintenance work on the area above the shops.

Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris has taken his campaign for a new Sandwell “super hospital” to the top.
The MP met with Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt to lobby for the Government to provide some of the funding towards building the new Midland Metropolitan Hospital.
Local health chiefs have already bought the land for the new hospital, which will be built on a derelict site in Smethwick and hope to begin work next year subject to funding and approval from the Department for Health. read more »

James Morris has welcomed the news that plans to expand the car park at Rowley Regis station have been given a green light by Centro.
The will add an extra 360 car parking spaces at the station and work is now set to begin this year.
Local residents have been concerned about parking around Rowley Regis station where the park-and-ride car park has reached its current capacity.
Increasing numbers of cars are being parked on side roads and many local residents have complained that the resulting congestion is presenting a danger to pedestrians and other motorists. read more »

Apprenticeship & Skills Fair - Friday 3rd May at the Zion Centre
More than 200 apprenticeships and training places will be up for grabs at the Apprenticeship Fair being organised by Halesowen and Rowley Regis MP James Morris.
Skills Minister Matthew Hancock will be opening the Halesowen & Rowley Regis Apprenticeship and Skills Fair, which will take place between 10am and 3pm at the Zion Christian Centre in Little Cornbow, Halesowen. read more »

Government Minister Matthew Hancock has been confirmed as the guest of honour at the Halesowen & Rowley Regis Apprenticeship and Skills Fair on 3rd May.
The Minister for Skills and Lifelong Learning will be opening the event, which is being organised by local MP James Morris.
He will also be speaking at an event for local businesses on the morning of the Apprenticeship Fair, to listen to their views on addressing the skills gap facing local employers. read more »
