Local businesses and jobs

Developing the local economy is crucial if we are to create new employment opportunities. This means supporting local industries, such as manufacturing and maintaining a laser like focus on boosting private sector jobs.

I have spoken regularly in Parliament in support industries locally, for instance calling on the Government to award more contracts to local firms. Furthermore, I was an early and strong supporter of both the Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership and creating enterprise zones locally.
